Biography
 
William Henry is a graduate of Chicago Public Schools and currently, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music and a Masters degree in Education from North Park University.
 
Mr. Henry comes to Rickover from Curie High School for performing and technical arts. He was the first and only Chicago Public School student to achieve honor recital ratings on two different instruments at the same citywide contest thus performing twice at the same honor recital. Mr. Henry is a VanderCook Espirit De Corps Award winner and served as President of the Xi Kappa Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Fraternity in 1996.
 
During his 16 year career Mr. Henry designed and developed the world’s first digital parade banner, co-directed the #6 marching band in Illinois, been featured in Band and Orchestra Magazine for building a band program in less than two years, performed at the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic four times, hosted Wynton Marsalis as a colleague on multiple occasions and led the Swift Elementary,Curie and Rickover High School bands to well over 50 citywide and state division one ratings at band and solo competitions.
 
Mr. Henry is an accomplished Pianist, Euphoniumist, and percussionist.  He currently serves as a guest conductor, soloist, and clinician in Illinois and around the country.
