Freshman Sports Tryouts
There will be additional Freshman Tryouts for Rickover Sports this coming week.
Girls Volleyball - Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 3:00pm - 6:00pm at the Broadway Armory, 5917 N. Broadway Ave.
Boys Soccer - Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 1:00pm at Foster Turf Field, located at Foster Ave. and Lake Shore Drive.
Cheerleading - Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 12:00pm in the front of Rickover by the Track.
Cross Country - August 23 - August 26 after orientation. Sept. 1st,2nd,and 3rd. All three days! 3-5p.m for all students. Rickover track in front of the school.

Generous Cross Country Donation!!!
On August 12th, four members of the cross country team and Coach Kopec were at a local eating establishment talking about the 2010 season. Practices, sheduling meets, uniforms, and team unity were discussed. A fellow restaurant patron overheard the conversation and concerns and gave a GENEROUS donation to the team.
We'd like to thank her kindness; and remind people it is okay to "panic" - you never know who is listening! Thanks again!

Honors Biology Summer Reading Requirement
For students who will be in Honors Biology during the 2010-2011 school year, attached is a letter from Mrs. Palmer discussing your Summer Reading assignment. Please read the attachment for more information.

Rickover's Summer Reading Program
Once again, Rickover cadets will have the opportunity to develop independence in reading and study skills while improving their vocabulary by participating in the Rickover Summer Reading Program. Rickover cadets can choose from a list of books selected by the Social Science teachers & NJROTC instructors. The books should be read during the summer and in September, can earn credit for the first assignments of these courses if they successfully complete a simple quiz to show proof of reading.
